If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll have likely seen my video during Christmas time where I re-enacted Chevy Chase cutting the newel post saying “Fixed the Newel Post!”. If not, check this link out. At that point I decided the banister that separated our kitchen from the sunken living room had to go. It created this unnecessary division between the two rooms that really made things appear smaller. So we ripped it out on Christmas Day and called it “Christmas Day Reno’s” the latest hit series on HGTV!
Studio Renovation - DIY
When we moved into our new place, we knew there was going to be a lot of work to get rid of the "Oak Paradise" as we like to call it. My wife's studio where she does Eyelash Extensions was in serious need of a make over and so I partnered with Collin over at Windsor Plywood and AS IS Brand Wood Walls to help out with the renovation.
We only have one before picture and it's not that great but have a fantastic after picture and the "customer" could not be more happy. Utilizing the AS IS Brand Wood Walls product was a huge time saver for me. I've thought about doing wood walls in the past however the milling of reclaimed material as well as staining it different shades is what's kept me away. Not because I can't do it, it's a lot of time and this product cuts down on the time to execute.
Utilizing G-Tape double-sided tape and some 2" brad nails this wall went up in no time which allowed me to get the rest of the room completed within the weekend. Overall the whole renovation was a pleasure and really has me pumped to take on the rest of the house. Baby steps though.
